Uljin-gun Opens Applications for Gyeongbuk Province Farmers and Fishermen Allowance 2025

Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Son Byeong-bok) has been accepting applications for the 2025 Farmers and Fishermen Allowance from February 1 to March 14.

Mobile applications will be accepted from February 1 to March 14, while in-person applications at the local town and township offices will be accepted from February 24 to March 14.

Eligible applicants are heads of farming households who have registered agricultural, forestry, or fishery business information and have resided in Gyeongbuk Province for more than one year prior to January 1, 2024, and are engaged in farming or fishing.

However, the following are excluded from eligibility: ▲ those with non-agricultural income exceeding 37 million KRW ▲ those caught receiving subsidies fraudulently within the past five years ▲ those penalized for violations of the Farmland Act, Mountainous Area Management Act, Livestock Epidemic Prevention Act, or Fisheries Act ▲ public officials and employees of public institutions ▲ spouses of farmers and fishermen allowance recipients ▲ cases where households are separated despite living together.

Mobile applications are limited to business owners who received direct payments in 2024, while applicants who did not receive direct payments must apply in person.

Mobile applications can be submitted by installing the 'Moiso Gyeongsangbuk-do' app, registering as a member, and then applying. Mobile applicants are exempt from submitting documents and can check the application and payment status in real time.

For farmers and fishermen confirmed as recipients, the previous method of paying 300,000 KRW twice a year has been improved. Starting this year, a single payment of 600,000 KRW will be made in the first half of the year, expected to be credited to the Uljin Sarang Card between May and June.

Baek Woon-hwa, Director of Agricultural Policy Division, said, “We hope all eligible households apply within the deadline so that no one misses out on the farmers and fishermen allowance,” adding, “Providing this allowance will help boost the pride of Uljin’s farmers and fishermen and contribute to creating a sustainable agricultural and fishery environment.”

The farmers and fishermen allowance has been implemented by Gyeongbuk Province since 2022, and the number of applicants in Uljin-gun has been increasing every year.
