The Clean Jeonnam Excellent Village Project is a program supported by South Jeolla Province to create resident-led, distinctive villages by funding projects such as environmental clean-up, landscape improvement, and community activities. Selected villages receive an annual grant of 5 million KRW for three years.
This year, the county plans to discover 20 new villages and implement the Excellent Village Project in a total of 106 locations, including 51 villages in their second year and 35 in their third year.
Choi Gihu, Head of the Regional Development Division, stated, "The goal of the Excellent Village Project is to create more livable villages and strengthen community spirit through the active participation and collaboration of residents. We will do our best to provide active support, including customized consulting for each village, to ensure the successful implementation of the project."
