Expansion of School Autonomy and Simplification of Non-Overnight Procedures
On the 7th, the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it had revised its operation manual for safe and systematic field trips and provided guidance to all schools.
Through this revision, the parental consent rate for overnight field trips was raised from the previous 70% to 80%, and unnecessary procedures for non-overnight field trips were reduced to enhance school autonomy. In addition, the qualification criteria for safety personnel were expanded to ensure smooth staffing during field trips.
Furthermore, the accounting standards for expenses such as accompanying teachers' travel costs, cancellation fees for absent students, and meal costs for students remaining at school, which were previously unclear, have been systematically organized to reduce the administrative burden on schools.
Additionally, in accordance with the amendment to the "Act on the Prevention and Compensation of School Safety Accidents," the city office plans to reflect standards for the allocation and operation of support staff in ordinances to support safe off-campus educational activities for students.
