The Constitutional Court announced the schedule for next week's hearings, including the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol and the impeachment trial of the Chairperson of the Board of Audit and Inspection.
Cheon Jae-hyun, the Constitutional Court spokesperson, stated at the regular briefing on the 5th, "Hearings will be held over four days next week, with one day reserved for the justices' deliberation."
The Constitutional Court plans to resume the hearing on the dispute over the appointment suspension of Ma Eun-hyuk, a nominee for Constitutional Court Justice, between the National Assembly and the President at 2 p.m. on the 10th. The impeachment trial of the President is scheduled for 10 a.m. on the 11th and 13th. On the 12th at 2 p.m., between the impeachment trial sessions, the hearing for the impeachment trial of the Chairperson of the Board of Audit and Inspection is scheduled.
Additionally, regarding President Yoon's impeachment trial, the Constitutional Court has summoned Cho Seong-hyun, Commander of the 1st Security Group of the Capital Defense Command, as a witness. Spokesperson Cheon said, "Cho Seong-hyun was summoned as a witness by the court's authority, and the examination is scheduled for 5 p.m. on the 13th." Furthermore, Shin Won-sik, Director of the National Security Office, who is scheduled for witness examination at 2 p.m. on the 11th, has been summoned as a witness by both parties.
However, regarding any additional scheduling discussions beyond the planned impeachment trial hearing dates or the possibility of witness examination of Prime Minister Han Deok-su, Cheon stated, "Nothing has been decided yet, and it is currently unknown." The 7th hearing on the 11th will feature witnesses including Shin, the Director of the National Security Office, former Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, and Kim Yong-bin, Secretary General of the Central Election Commission.
