Second Interim Report Meeting on the Establishment of the Basic Plan

Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Park Hongryul), is drawing up a blueprint to develop into a complex marine leisure tourism city.

According to the city on the 7th, a 'Second Interim Report Meeting on the Establishment of the Basic Plan for Building a Complex Marine Leisure Tourism City' was held on the 6th to review the progress so far and share step-by-step implementation strategies. The meeting, presided over by Mayor Park Hongryul, proceeded with an interim report from the service provider, followed by a Q&A session and collection of opinions.

The main focus of this service is to investigate and analyze the island areas and surrounding marine zones, set development directions, and establish phased plans for building a marine leisure tourism city.

With the demand for marine leisure tourism continuously diversifying and increasing, the city has prioritized this project, aiming to transform Mokpo into a stay-type complex marine leisure tourism city, believing it to be the optimal destination for marine leisure. The city plans to use the final results of this project as a blueprint to leap forward as a complex marine leisure tourism city.

Mayor Park Hongryul stated, "We must transform Mokpo's port-centered coastline into a marine leisure-oriented waterfront space and make the marine leisure industry a future growth engine," adding, "By creating a variety of marine leisure content utilizing Mokpo's marine leisure tourism resources, we will emerge as the leading marine leisure tourism hub of the southwest coast."
