The Supreme Prosecutors' Office announced on the 7th that it has blocked access to the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) service Deepseek starting from 8 a.m. that day.

On the same day, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office stated, "We reviewed security issues related to generative AI services," and explained, "We have temporarily blocked access to Deepseek on the internet until safety regarding information security and personal data protection is confirmed."


The Supreme Prosecutors' Office received a guidance letter regarding the use of generative AI from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 4th. It is known that this measure was prepared after discussions with the National Intelligence Service. Previously, central government ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense, as well as public institutions, also blocked access to Deepseek due to concerns over information leakage.
