Bandocultural Foundation announced on the 7th that it will support the inaugural exhibition of 'Osaekchanran,' a nonprofit art group composed of five mid-career female artists.
The exhibition prepared by Bandocultural Foundation and Osaekchanran will be held from today until the 6th of next month at Ivy Lounge, a complex cultural space within the Bandoyubora brand commercial facility near Dongtan Station in Dongtan 2 New Town. The exhibition features a variety of artworks created by the five artists, ranging from flat paintings made of hanji paper, crafts based on traditional crafts, to upcycled works made from repurposed wedding dresses.
In celebration of Jeongwol Daeboreum, the exhibition is operated together with a linked experience program for making Osaekchanran lucky pouches to wish for family blessings. The experience activities, which anyone can participate in for free, include folding hanji lucky pouches, making wedding dress lucky pouch keyrings, botanical lucky pouches, and traditional lucky pouch brooches.
Kwon Hong-sa, chairman of Bandocultural Foundation, said, "On the occasion of Jeongwol Daeboreum, which prays for the health and fortune of families, we have prepared opportunities for cultural activities with dedicated artists," adding, "In addition to this exhibition that harmonizes Korea's unique traditions and contemporary art, we plan to continuously strive to revitalize cultural projects through support for various cultural and artistic activities."
Meanwhile, Bandocultural Foundation is a nonprofit public corporation established by Bando Construction in 2019 to popularize culture and arts and contribute to society. Marking its 6th anniversary this year, it plans to actively support creative activities through the 'Family Love Drawing and Photography Contest' and the 'Bando Art Artist Contest.'
Furthermore, it will continue to support corporate patronage to help local community culture and arts flourish, fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
