Samsung Asset Management Lowers Total Fees of Two KODEX US Representative Index ETFs to Industry Lowest

Samsung Asset Management is lowering fees for investors in KODEX U.S. benchmark indices.

On the 7th, Samsung Asset Management announced that it has once again reduced the total fees for KODEX U.S. S&P 500 ETF and KODEX U.S. Nasdaq 100 ETF from 0.0099% to 0.0062%.

This move was made as a gesture of appreciation for customers who were disappointed by the inability to maintain the TR (dividend automatic reinvestment) structure due to the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s tax law amendment bill announced in January. Investors in the two Samsung KODEX U.S. benchmark index ETFs can continue investing in the U.S. with the industry's lowest total fees.

In April last year, Samsung Asset Management also reduced the total fees to 0.0099% for KODEX U.S. S&P 500 and KODEX U.S. Nasdaq 100 with the purpose of "expanding an efficient long-term installment investment culture" and "encouraging pension investments."

KODEX U.S. S&P 500 recorded a 44.31% return last year, ranking first among nine similar ETFs. It was chosen by many individual investors and achieved a net asset growth rate of 416.9% compared to the end of 2023, surpassing the average growth rate of 249.3% for similar products.

KODEX U.S. Nasdaq 100 also posted a 45.94% return last year, the highest among four similar ETFs, and its net assets grew by 195.7% compared to the end of 2023, far exceeding the average of 111.3% for similar products. Since switching from the TR type to the dividend payout type, KODEX U.S. Nasdaq 100 has seen individual net purchases totaling 24.2 billion KRW over the past five trading days, marking the largest scale among similar ETFs and showing continued net buying by individual investors.

Park Myung-je, head of Samsung Asset Management’s ETF Business Division, said, "Both KODEX U.S. S&P 500 and KODEX U.S. Nasdaq 100, which are representative long-term pension investment products, have been able to deliver the best returns," adding, "Lowering the total fees to the lowest level is intended to reduce costs and increase dividends."
