NewJeans Changes Team Name to NJZ and Begins Independent Path

Girl group NewJeans has changed their team name to NJZ and embarked on an independent path.

On the 7th, NJZ revealed their new team name and photos through social networking services (SNS). They also changed their SNS account name from 'jeanzforfree' to 'njz_official'.

Additionally, they announced that they will perform at the concert 'Complex Live,' a side event of the global fashion and culture festival 'ComplexCon,' held at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong for three days starting from the 21st of next month. This will be their first stage under the name NJZ.

Member Minji said, "I am excited to take the stage for the first time as NJZ and show a new side of ourselves. This performance is a very important moment, and I am eagerly looking forward to sharing the new music we have wanted to show to fans around the world."

NJZ declared the termination of their exclusive contract last November, citing the agency ADORE's failure to fulfill obligations, and have been independently active since then. ADORE still claims the contract is valid and has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract with the court, along with a provisional injunction to preserve the agency's status and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts.
