Reports His Father After Being Disciplined
Expresses Wish for Father's Punishment
A father who punished his elementary school son for continuing violence and verbal abuse toward his mother was arrested by the police. The father claimed it was "for disciplinary purposes," but he ultimately underwent a police investigation.
On the 7th, the Gwangju Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that they had booked the father, Mr. A, on charges of violating the Child Welfare Act (child abuse).
Mr. A is accused of slapping and kicking his elementary school son, Mr. B, at their residence in Gwangju City at 1:30 p.m. on the 31st of last month. Police who responded to Mr. B's report apprehended Mr. A at the scene. It was confirmed that Mr. A was not intoxicated at the time.
It is known that Mr. A committed the act in a fit of rage after Mr. B continued violent behavior and language toward his wife. During the police investigation, Mr. A insisted it was "for disciplinary purposes," but Mr. B reportedly expressed his wish for Mr. A to be punished.
The police plan to ascertain the specific circumstances of the incident by questioning Mr. A, Mr. B, and others involved.
