Up to 300 Million KRW per Local SME Manufacturer
Applications Accepted from February 17 to March 10
Gwangju City announced on the 7th that it will provide export promotion loans totaling 3 billion KRW to local small and medium-sized export companies.
Eligible applicants are small and medium-sized manufacturing companies headquartered or operating in Gwangju that have export records within the past year or have participated in export-related projects such as overseas marketing support since 2024. However, companies that received support in 2023 and 2024 are excluded.
Supported projects include overseas market development activities, participation in exhibitions, obtaining overseas certifications, design development, and trademark registration, among other export-related projects.
The funding is up to 300 million KRW per company, with a two-year grace period and lump-sum repayment at a variable interest rate. Companies selected for the export promotion loan will be subject to a variable interest rate of 2.12% (or 1.62% for companies whose sales or operating profit have decreased by 10% or more).
Applications and related documents can be submitted online through the Gwangju Economic Promotion Win-Win Job Foundation’s fund loan management system from the 17th to March 10th. For more details, refer to the ‘Notices & Announcements’ section on the Gwangju City website.
Since 1998, Gwangju City has supported 36.8 billion KRW in export promotion loans to 368 companies to alleviate financial difficulties and promote exports for small and medium-sized exporters.
Hong Nasoon, Head of Startup Promotion, said, “We hope that low-interest loans will provide practical help to local small and medium-sized export companies facing domestic and international uncertainties,” and added, “We will strengthen export support programs so that local small and medium-sized exporters can respond flexibly to rapidly changing global trade environments and enhance their global competitiveness.”
