"From AI to Mental Health"... Gyeonggi-do Opens 405 Courses on Lifelong Learning Portal

Gyeonggi Province will sequentially open 405 courses in various fields such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), finance and investment, mental health, retirement planning, and hobbies on the Gyeonggi Lifelong Learning Portal ‘GSEEK’ by the 12th of this month. As a result, the total number of courses on GSEEK will increase to over 1,800 across 13 fields.


On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province announced that new courses were added reflecting residents' learning demands, the latest trends, and issues.


The online instructors include notable figures in their respective fields such as lecturer Kim Mi-kyung, psychologist Kim Kyung-il, physicist Kim Sang-wook, economic expert Hong Chun-wook, physicist Jeong Jae-seung, psychiatrist Yoon Dae-hyun, and humanities scholar Kim Heon.

The main lectures include ▲Digital Competency Enhancement (Chat GPT Revolution, Questioning Skills to Survive in the AI Era) ▲Lifestyle Hobbies (Senior Strength Training, Writing Web Novels) ▲Humanities and Liberal Arts (Money Training, Overcoming Burnout, Modern Architecture Travel) ▲Job Competency Development (Conversation Skills, Preparing to Resign Starting in Your 40s), among others.


In addition, new courses related to caregiving environments have been newly opened, such as ‘How to Deal with Depression in Close People?’, ‘Care Education for Families of Dementia Patients’, and ‘Education for Families of Individuals with Borderline Intellectual Functioning’. About 200 courses including certification acquisition, foreign languages, and IT have been updated with the latest information or expanded and reorganized according to user demand.


Hong Seong-deok, Director of Lifelong Education at Gyeonggi Province, said, "We have revamped the courses to satisfy the diverse learning needs of residents and to provide knowledge that can be usefully applied in daily life," adding, "We will continue to expand lifelong learning courses in the future."
