Namyangju-si Selected as the Best Institution for 6 Consecutive Years in the National Civil Service Comprehensive Evaluation

Achieving the Highest Grade Among 307 Institutions Nationwide
with "Civil Services Beyond Imagination"

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Ju Gwang-deok) announced on the 6th that it has been selected for the highest grade, "Grade A," for six consecutive years in the "2024 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation" jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

The Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation is a system that systematically evaluates the level of civil service across 307 institutions nationwide (47 central government, 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, 17 metropolitan cities, 226 basic local governments).


The evaluation is conducted based on five categories and 20 indicators: △civil administration strategy and system △operation of civil service systems △National Sinmungo △grievance civil complaints △civil service satisfaction. The grades range from "Grade A" (top 10%) to "Grade E" (over 90%), divided into five levels.


Namyangju City demonstrated the highest level of civil service nationwide by scoring full marks in areas such as "civil administration and system improvement plans, external activities of the head of the institution in civil administration, protection of vulnerable groups and civil service officers."


In particular, the city introduced new communication methods with citizens, such as △building an administrative service platform based on address information facilities and △operating the citizen participation communication window called the Genuine Communication Team. It also promoted △installation of civil service counters for the disabled and △expansion of customized civil services for vulnerable groups, creating an administrative environment that anyone can conveniently use.


Additionally, the city enacted the "Ordinance on the Protection and Support of Civil Service Officers" and spared no effort to support a safe working environment for civil service officers by △strengthening the "Protection Measure Voice Guidance" system and △introducing additional portable protective equipment such as "wearable cams."


Mayor Ju Gwang-deok said, "Namyangju City listens carefully to the voices of each citizen and constantly strives to provide citizen-centered customized civil services," adding, "We will continue to do our best to realize 'civil services beyond imagination' in the future."


Meanwhile, based on this achievement, Namyangju City plans to continue institutional improvements and service innovations to provide faster and more friendly civil services to its citizens.
