Taean County in South Chungcheong Province is partnering with an online sales platform to expand the market for its high-quality local agricultural and specialty products.

On the 6th, Taean County announced that this year it will seek various strategies, including pioneering online distribution channels through cooperation with 'Kakao Makers' and promoting connections between local tourism resources and agricultural and marine products.

Kakao Makers is an online sales platform operated by Kakao Corp. Last month on the 20th, the county signed a business agreement with Kakao and discussed the operation of online special exhibitions for agricultural, marine, and processed products from Taean.

In particular, with Taean County joining the 'Jega Beochi Project' of Kakao Makers this year, which aims to sell agricultural and marine products at fair prices, it is expected to help reduce inventory burdens for producers and greatly promote local specialty products.

A county official stated, "We are making multifaceted efforts to develop online sales channels for various agricultural and marine products and processed goods that Taean is proud of, such as six-clove garlic, sweet pumpkin potatoes, blue crabs, and large shrimp. We will strengthen our connection with Kakao Makers and prepare a variety of online and offline events to actively promote local agricultural and marine products."
