The Korea Productivity Center (KPC) announced on the 6th that it has implemented usage restrictions, including blocking access to the Chinese generative AI 'Deepseek,' which has recently been embroiled in controversy over excessive personal data collection, within its internal network.
This measure was taken in line with access blocking actions by government ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following concerns that Deepseek may excessively collect user information during the AI learning process. It is described as a preemptive step to prevent the potential leakage of personal and critical information held by KPC.
In addition to Deepseek, KPC plans to thoroughly review security vulnerabilities and personal data collection issues in other generative AI services and implement additional usage restrictions if necessary.
A KPC official stated, "Protecting users' personal information as well as the center's critical information assets is a top priority, and we will continue to ensure information security to maintain the public's trust."
