Democratic Party's Lee Jae-myung Raises 150 Million Won in Donations Within 25 Minutes

"Repaying with a Great Republic of Korea"

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced on the 6th that he reached the annual limit of 150 million won for National Assembly member donations in just 25 minutes.

Through his Facebook on the same day, Lee said, "The fundraising amount was filled within 25 minutes of the sponsorship opening at 10 a.m. today," and added, "I sincerely thank the 4,200 strong comrades."

He continued, "I will not waste a single won and will repay by making the country where the will of the people becomes politics, a great Republic of Korea."

According to the Political Funds Act, the annual donation limit per politician is 150 million won. In election years, donations can be doubled for constituency members.
