A Total Construction Cost of 103.5 Billion KRW Invested
Residents' Briefing Session Held for Road Construction Design
A road maintenance project for National Route 75, with a total construction cost of about 100 billion KRW, is being promoted, and it is expected to greatly improve traffic conditions between Gapyeong-eup and Cheongpyeong and Seorak-myeon. Through this project, not only will the inconvenience caused by poor road alignment be resolved, but regional economic revitalization is also anticipated due to improved accessibility to the metropolitan area.
According to Gapyeong-gun on the 6th, the Seoul Regional Land Management Office and Gapyeong-gun held a residents' briefing session on the ‘Basic Design Plan for National Route 75 Gapyeong-Cheongpyeong Road Construction Project’ at the Gapyeong-eup Administrative Welfare Center on the 5th. At the briefing, the necessity of improving the alignment of National Route 75 to respond to the increased traffic volume following the construction of Gapyeong Bridge was emphasized. In addition, the project overview and future schedule were introduced, and the session was organized to collect residents' opinions.
According to this basic design plan, along the total 11.9 km section from Goseong-ri, Cheongpyeong-myeon at Gapyeong Bridge to the Waterworks Office in Daljeon-ri, Gapyeong-eup, tunnels at two locations and seven bridges will be newly constructed in areas with poor road alignment to improve traffic conditions and road safety.
The total construction cost for this project is 103.5 billion KRW. A county official stated, “After going through administrative procedures, the detailed design service will be completed in the second half of 2026, and then full-scale compensation and construction will begin.”
Seo Taewon, the county governor, said, “This road maintenance project is a long-cherished wish of the residents of Gapyeong-gun, and it is expected to significantly strengthen the transportation network connecting Gapyeong-eup with Cheongpyeong and Seorak-myeon through alignment improvements.” He added, “We will continue to consult with related organizations to ensure that residents' opinions are fully reflected and that the project is carried out promptly.”
