"Calling 53 Young Is the Extreme of Yeouido Dialect"
Firmly Denies Possibility of Returning to People Power Party
Lee Jun-seok, a reformist lawmaker, criticized a pro-Han Dong-hoon politician who is known as a close aide of former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon for emphasizing "generation change" and organizing "Under 73," saying, "At 53 years old, you would have been the age to see your grandchildren in the past." On the 6th, appearing on KBS Radio, Lee expressed his refusal to join "Under 73" when urged by pro-Han figures, stating, "I have neither reason nor leisure to be used by such people."

He continued, "The average age in South Korea is about 45, and Han Dong-hoon is already 53 years old in Korean age," adding, "It is time to emphasize that one is entering maturity both politically and socially, but there are people who claim to be the younger generation even in their 60s, not knowing their own age position." He also said, "Didn't (former leader Han) say he wouldn't use Yeouido dialect when he was in politics before?" and added, "Claiming that 53 is young is the extreme of Yeouido dialect. I hope this kind of concept is avoided."
Furthermore, Lee dismissed the remarks of Jang Kyung-tae, a Democratic Party lawmaker who predicted Lee would return to the People Power Party during the presidential election process, saying, "There is absolutely no possibility." He emphasized, "Politicians tend to judge and comment from their own perspective, wondering what they would do in their position, but I believe I am engaging in politics from a broader viewpoint."
Recently, the pro-Han Dong-hoon faction of the People Power Party launched a YouTube channel called 'Under 73,' focusing on individuals born after 1973, the birth year of former representative Han Dong-hoon. The channel aims to debunk fake news and convey the message of a 'young and capable conservative,' highlighting the need for generational change. YouTube channel UNDER 73 STUDIO

Ryu Je-hwa, the party committee chairman for Sejong City Gap and a leading figure in establishing "Under 73," encouraged Lee Jun-seok to join "Under 73" during an appearance on CBS Radio's "Park Jae-hong's Hanpanseungbu" on the 3rd. Ryu said, "Generation change requires many fellow politicians, but Lee Jun-seok is currently advocating for generation change alone," adding, "Lee Jun-seok should consider joining Under 73. Wouldn't it be fun to work together under the name Under 73?"
