Governor Woo Seunghee joins blood donation campaign
to share the gift of life
Yeongam County, Jeonnam (Governor Woo Seunghee) held a "Blood Donation and Life Sharing Campaign" and a group blood donation event at the county office plaza on the 5th in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center.
According to the county on the 6th, this campaign and group blood donation were organized to find a breakthrough in the ongoing decrease in blood donors due to the rapid decline in birth rates and aging population, and to ensure a stable supply of blood.
Governor Woo Seunghee participated in the campaign by handing out hand warmers to Yeongam County officials on their way to work and also joined 57 public officials in donating blood.
Governor Woo Seunghee said, "It felt good to donate blood after a long time, and I was happy to think that I could share warmth with those who desperately need blood," adding, "I hope many county residents will join in donating blood to help protect the lives and health of our neighbors."
Yeongam County plans to expand the blood donation events, previously held twice a year, to four times a year, once each quarter starting this year.
