Gwangju Seo-gu Council Establishes 'Legislative Communication Team'... First in Gwangju and Jeonnam

Reception of Petitions, Appeals, and General Civil Complaints

The Gwangju Seo-gu Council (Chairperson Jeon Seungil) announced on the 6th that it has established the "Legislative Communication Team," the first of its kind in Gwangju and Jeonnam, to realize an open council that prioritizes communication with residents.

This restructuring, the first since Chairperson Jeon Seungil took office in the latter half of the 9th term, reflects a strong commitment to listening more closely to residents' voices and actively reflecting them in legislative activities.

The Legislative Communication Team serves as a key channel for gathering residents' opinions, receiving petitions, appeals, and general civil complaints, and closely cooperating with relevant standing committees and departments to incorporate them into policy.

Through this, it is expected to bring about tangible changes and improvements that residents can truly feel, going beyond simply resolving civil complaints.

Seo-gu Council plans to establish a more proactive and participatory communication system, moving away from traditional one-sided legislative activities, under the motto of "a council that communicates and collaborates through change and innovation."

Chairperson Jeon Seungil stated, "Since taking office as chairperson in the latter half of the 9th term, I have worked to make the council more accessible to residents, such as operating live YouTube broadcasts of council sessions. With the establishment of the Legislative Communication Team, I will make Seo-gu Council the first place residents turn to and rely on in times of difficulty."

He added, "By meeting more residents, listening to their opinions directly, and reflecting them in policies and legislative activities, we will create a more trusted council?an open council for everyone that grows together with the residents."

Meanwhile, Seo-gu Council will continue to promote change and innovation that residents can feel, striving to further expand communication with residents and reflect their voices in policy, in order to build a Seo-gu Council that works together with its community.
