Registration Open Until March 7: Four Courses Including Full, Half, 10 km, and 5 km
Abundant Food and Entertainment, Shuttle Bus Service, and YouTube Live Streaming
The '2025 Yeongju Sobaeksan Marathon,' the premier event among the nation's top 10 major marathon races, will be held on April 6 at Yeongju Citizens' Stadium.
This year's event features four categories: 5 km and 10 km courses running through downtown Yeongju, as well as full and half marathon courses designed for professional marathoners.
The full course is an officially certified route starting from Yeongju Citizens' Stadium, passing through Sunheung-myeon, and extending to Dansan-myeon. Participants can run against the backdrop of the beautiful natural scenery of Sobaeksan, as well as historic cultural heritage sites such as Sosu Seowon Confucian Academy, Seonbi Village, and Seonbi World.
Registration is open until 4 p.m. on March 7 via the official event website or the organizing office. Anyone in good physical health, male or female, can participate. The entry fees are 50,000 KRW for the full course, 40,000 KRW for the half course, 30,000 KRW for the 10 km, and 20,000 KRW for the 5 km.
The organizing office has prepared various events, food, and entertainment to enrich the experience. In addition to prize money, trophies, and souvenirs, participants will be offered generous food such as pork, banquet noodles, and apples. A raffle and recreational activities will also be held.
Free shuttle buses will operate for participants departing from major cities including Seoul, Incheon, Daegu, Busan, Daejeon, and Ulsan. To capture the special moments of marathon participants, finish medals, record engraving services, and YouTube live streaming will be provided.
Mayor Park Nam-seo stated, “I hope this event becomes a festival where everyone can enjoy the spring atmosphere of Sobaeksan and relieve everyday stress. We will do our best to ensure that all visitors to Yeongju can safely enjoy the marathon. We also ask participants to choose a course that matches their physical condition to prevent accidents.”
