A public opinion poll showed that even after Seollal, the support rate for the People Power Party remains ahead of the Democratic Party within the margin of error.

According to the National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted from the 3rd to the 5th by Embrain Public, K-Stat Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research (a mobile phone interview survey of 1,005 men and women aged 18 and over nationwide, with a sampling error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and a response rate of 20.0%), the support rate for the People Power Party was 39%, while the Democratic Party was 37%. Both increased by 1 percentage point compared to the survey two weeks ago.

Regarding suitability for the next president, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, ranked first with 32%. Kim Moon-soo, Minister of Employment and Labor, was second with 12%. Following were Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul (8%), Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu (7%), and Han Dong-hoon, former leader of the People Power Party (6%).

Concerning the nature of the next presidential election, 41% supported the ruling party's continuation of power, while 50% favored the opposition party's victory for regime change.

Regarding President Yoon Seok-youl, who is currently undergoing impeachment proceedings, 55% responded that he should be removed from office, while 40% believed he should be reinstated. Compared to the survey two weeks ago, support for removal decreased by 2 percentage points, while support for reinstatement increased by 2 percentage points. This recent trend has been continuing.

In the second week of January, support for removal was 62%, followed by 59% in the third week and 57% in the fourth week of January.

Regarding President Yoon’s response to the impeachment trial, 38% evaluated it positively, while 56% viewed it negatively.
