Busan Office of Education Ranks 1st in 'Grievance Complaints' Category in Last Year's Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation

Selected as an Excellent Institution with a Perfect Score for Two Consecutive Years in the 'Civil Complaint Administration Management Foundation' Category

Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong) achieved first place in the grievance complaint category among 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education in the ‘2024 Comprehensive Evaluation of Civil Complaint Services’ jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.


This evaluation, conducted from September 2023 to August 2024, assessed the performance of civil complaint administration activities and satisfaction with complaint handling across 306 administrative agencies, including central administrative agencies, metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide, and metropolitan and basic local governments. Busan Metropolitan Office of Education was selected as an excellent institution with a ‘Grade B’ in the comprehensive evaluation.


In particular, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education showed improvement compared to last year in the grievance complaint category concerning citizens’ rights violations, inconveniences, and burdens, securing first place in this category.


Moreover, by providing demand-tailored proactive civil complaint services such as producing and utilizing the short-form video ‘Miri Alrido’ for prior complaint information guidance, the ‘All Care’ comprehensive complaint responsibility service from start to finish, and operating the ‘Visiting Comprehensive Civil Complaint Office,’ Busan Metropolitan Office of Education achieved a perfect score of 31 points for two consecutive years in the ‘Civil Complaint Administration Management Foundation’ category.


Following its selection as the best civil complaint service institution last year, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education continues to demonstrate excellence in the civil complaint service field this year, showcasing its status as a leading institution in civil complaint services.


Meanwhile, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education was selected as an excellent institution in operating the ‘2024 National Happiness Civil Complaint Office’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving the Prime Minister’s Commendation as the only metropolitan and provincial office of education, and maintaining its certification as a National Happiness Civil Complaint Office until 2027.


Choi Yoon-hong, Acting Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, “This achievement is the result of our office’s efforts to actively resolve and prevent grievance complaints while communicating with education consumers. We will continue to improve civil complaint administration and systems to become an institution that provides civil complaint services satisfying all Busan citizens, including students, parents, and faculty members.”
