Assisting Standing Up with the Optimal Backrest Angle

Healthcare robot company Bodyfriend announced on the 6th that it has registered a patent for a device and technology that assist users in easily sitting down or standing up from the product.

Recently, Bodyfriend registered a patent for a "method of assisting a user's standing up and a massage device performing the same." This is a pioneering technology to be applied to various healthcare robot groups in the future, helping users to sit down or stand up from massage chairs more easily. When the user stands up, the backrest angle is raised so that they can stand up easily with less effort, and when sitting down, the backrest is adjusted to the optimal angle.

The seat part interlocked with the backrest (the part where the buttocks touch) and the massage module installed inside both move at the optimal angle to push or support the user's buttocks, enabling elderly or disabled people who usually have difficulty using the product to stand up and sit down easily. Additionally, the backrest angle can be adjusted according to each user's health condition, allowing the chair to be used in accordance with their health status.
