KOSPI Gains Intraday on Institutional Net Buying Pressure Yonhap News

The KOSPI index is showing intraday strength, supported by net buying from institutional investors.


As of 10:13 AM on the 6th, the KOSPI index is trading at 2520.31, up 0.45% from the previous day.


By investor type, institutions are net buyers with 66.5 billion KRW, while foreigners and individuals are net sellers with 71.6 billion KRW and 12.5 billion KRW respectively. In the futures market, institutions and foreigners are net sellers with 47.5 billion KRW and 5.8 billion KRW respectively, whereas individuals are net buyers with 49.2 billion KRW.


Most sectors are on the rise. The Food, Beverage & Tobacco sector surged 3.5%, Medical Precision Instruments 2.88%, Construction 2.95%, Machinery & Equipment 1.68%, Non-metallic Minerals 1.1%, Real Estate 0.87%, Paper & Wood 0.87%, IT Services 0.6%, Electrical & Electronics 0.73%, General Services 0.6%, Manufacturing 0.53%, Textiles & Apparel 0.54%, and Securities 0.49% are all showing strength. On the other hand, the Chemical sector fell 0.32%, Financials dropped 0.2%, and the Entertainment & Culture sector showed weakness.


Top market capitalization stocks are mixed. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are up 0.57% and 1.61% respectively, Hyundai Motor 0.73%, Kia 0.31%, Celltrion 0.62%, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries 0.32%, and Hyundai Mobis 0.2% are also rising. Conversely, LG Energy Solution is down 0.87%, Samsung Biologics -0.37%, NAVER -0.87%, KB Financial Group -6.48%, and Shinhan Financial Group -1.18% are showing weakness.


The KOSDAQ index is also maintaining its strength. The KOSDAQ index is trading at 735.88, up 0.67% from the previous day. By investor type, institutions and individuals are net buyers with 21.5 billion KRW and 11.3 billion KRW respectively, while foreigners are net sellers with 23.7 billion KRW.


Top market capitalization stocks on KOSDAQ are mixed. Alteogen is up 3.32%, Rigachem Bio 5.24%, Classys 1.73%, Rino Industrial 4.19%, Hugel 3.09%, and Pharma Research 3.95% are showing strength. Meanwhile, EcoPro BM is down 1.13%, HLB -0.89%, EcoPro -1.16%, Rainbow Robotics -0.81%, Samchundang Pharm -0.74%, and JYP Ent. -1.51% are weak.


Meanwhile, in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the KRW/USD exchange rate is trading at 1446.4 KRW, up 2.5 KRW from the previous day.
