Goryeong-gun Confucian Scholars Association Holds New Year Meeting... Joining Forces to Inherit Confucian Culture

The New Year's meeting of the Yurim organizations in Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk, was held on the 5th at the 2nd-floor conference room of the Yurim Hall, hosted by Goryeong Hyanggyo.

The event was led by Lee Dong-hoon, the former head of Hyanggyo, with participation from senior Hyanggyo members, Yudohoe, Myeongyuhoe, Damsuhoe executives, and representatives of Yurim from the towns and townships. About 90 people attended, including County Governor Lee Nam-chul, Vice Chairman of the County Council Yoo Hee-soon, county council members, heads of local organizations, and department and township heads.

Former head Lee Dong-hoon expressed in his greeting, “I thank the Yurim members who have contributed to spreading Confucian spirit and preserving and developing traditional culture, and I hope you will continue to strive for the ethical and moral cultivation of the county residents and the development of our Goryeong.”

County Governor Lee Nam-chul said, “I appreciate the efforts of the Hyanggyo Yurim organizations who have taken the lead in learning and practicing the teachings of the sages, and I hope that the succession and development of Confucian culture, the tradition of our nation, will greatly contribute to the harmony of the county residents. I also wish for the health and happiness of the elders in the new year of Eulsa.”
