Number of Supported Vehicles Increased by 40%
Up to 14.9 Million KRW for Passenger Cars
Up to 24.7 Million KRW for Cargo Vehicles
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 6th that it will implement the private electric vehicle subsidy program at the highest level nationwide to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The program, which was promoted last year, is continuing this year, and applications are currently being accepted through the Zero-Emission Vehicle Integrated Website. Residents wishing to purchase can apply online through car dealerships.
To expand the distribution of electric vehicles, the number of supported vehicles this year is 385, an increase of about 40% from 273 last year. The support budget has also increased from 4.2 billion KRW last year to 5 billion KRW this year, but the subsidy per vehicle has been partially adjusted due to the expanded eligibility. Although the subsidy for general applicants has slightly decreased, the burden on residents has been reduced through expanded eligibility and strengthened detailed support benefits.
In particular, this year, additional national subsidies are available such as 30% for low-income households, up to 3 million KRW for multi-child families, 20% for youth first-time buyers, and 10% for farmers purchasing cargo vehicles, significantly expanding benefits for priority recipients compared to last year.
The support volume for the first half of the year is a total of 321 vehicles, including 188 passenger cars and 133 cargo vehicles, with maximum subsidies by vehicle type of 14.9 million KRW for passenger cars and 24.7 million KRW for cargo vehicles, paid differently depending on the vehicle type. These subsidies are evaluated as the highest level nationwide.
Eligible applicants are individuals aged 18 or older and individual business owners who have had an address in the jurisdiction for more than three months as of the application date, or corporations and public institutions located in the jurisdiction for more than one month.
