"Hamas and PLO Reject Trump's 'Let's Go Get It' Plan"

U.S. President Donald Trump revealed plans to take control of the Gaza Strip and relocate Palestinian residents, prompting fierce condemnation from the Palestinian armed group Hamas and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), who stated they "will not tolerate" such measures.

According to AFP, on the 5th (local time), Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif Al-Qanou said in a statement, "The United States' racist stance aligns with the position of the Israeli far-right, which calls for driving out our people and erasing our cause."

Hamas Political Bureau official Sami Abu Zuhri, in a separate statement, said, "We reject Trump's remarks that the residents of the Gaza Strip have no choice but to leave," adding, "This is a plan that will cause chaos and tension in the region."

Zuhri emphasized, "The people of Gaza will not tolerate the passing of such a plan," and stated, "It is not our people who should be driven from their land, but rather the occupation and aggression against our people (by Israel) must end."

Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Secretary-General Hussein Al-Sheikh also made it clear on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "We reject any demand to expel the Palestinian people from their homeland."

Secretary-General Al-Sheikh said, "We were born here, we live here, and we will remain here," adding, "Only the 'two-state solution,' based on international legitimacy and international law, can guarantee security, stability, and peace."

The previous day, President Trump, after holding a summit with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, stated at a press conference that Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip should be resettled in areas other than Gaza, and declared that "the United States will take over the Gaza Strip."
