Mayor Baek Young-hyun Expresses Expectations for the Development of Sports in Pocheon City
Gyeonggi Pocheon City (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced that Yoo Seung-min, the promotional ambassador and the president-elect of the 42nd Korea Sports Council, visited Pocheon City.

On the 5th, Pocheon City held a ‘Meeting with Yoo Seung-min, President-elect of the Korea Sports Council’ at the Pocheon City Hall administrative meeting room to discuss current issues for the development of sports in Pocheon City.
The meeting was attended by Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, Jeong Jong-geun, Chairman of the Pocheon City Sports Council, principals of Dongnam Middle and High Schools, and about 30 other related officials.
Pocheon City proposed the establishment of a high school table tennis team in the city and the hosting of nationwide table tennis competitions for elementary, middle, and high schools, thereby strengthening its foundation as a sports city.
President-elect Yoo Seung-min supported the table tennis teams of Seondan Elementary School and Songwoo Middle School with table tennis equipment and delivered a message of encouragement to the young table tennis hopefuls.
Yoo Seung-min said, “I will lead changes in the sports community of Pocheon City and South Korea,” and added, “As the promotional ambassador of Pocheon City and the 42nd president of the Korea Sports Council, I am grateful to the citizens of Pocheon City for their great interest.”
Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon City, said, “We welcome the visit of promotional ambassador Yoo Seung-min and congratulate him on his election as the 42nd president of the Korea Sports Council together with the citizens. As the head of the Korea Sports Council, we ask for his great interest and support for the development of sports in Pocheon City and South Korea.”
Meanwhile, President-elect Yoo Seung-min is an alumnus of Dongnam High School located in Soheul-eup, Pocheon City, and has been serving as a promotional ambassador for Pocheon City since 2018, leading efforts to widely promote the charm of Pocheon City and enhance its status.
