Applications accepted until the 21st
Up to 30 million KRW support per business
Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province (Mayor Park Nam-seo) is recruiting participating businesses for the '2025 Tourism Service Facility Environment Improvement Project' targeting food and lodging establishments from the 12th to the 21st of this month.
This project is jointly promoted by Gyeongbuk Province and Yeongju City, and supervised by the Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Corporation, to prepare for the 2025 APEC Summit and the 'Year of Visit Gyeongbuk,' aiming to provide visitors with a convenient and pleasant travel environment.
The project targets food and lodging establishments. For food establishments, it is mandatory to apply for improvements such as converting existing floor-seating facilities to table-seating facilities or renovating restrooms.
Additionally, businesses can optionally apply for signboard replacement and Korean menu maintenance. QR foreign language menus are provided free of charge only to establishments applying for table-seating facilities. Applications for smart facility improvements such as serving robots and table ordering are also accepted.
For lodging establishments, improvements are supported for wallpaper, flooring, bedding, indoor lighting, facility guide signs, and promotional material holders.
Starting this year, barrier-free facility support has been newly added for both lodging and food establishments to enable all visitors, including the disabled and elderly, to use the facilities more conveniently. This includes installation of entrance ramps, automatic doors, and safety bars.
The maximum support limits per project are 30 million KRW for the food service sector, 10 million KRW for lodging, 10 million KRW for smart facilities, and 10 million KRW for barrier-free facilities. The total support amount per business cannot exceed 30 million KRW when combining amounts from different sectors, and at least 20% of the total project cost must be self-funded.
Businesses wishing to apply should refer to the announcement posted on the Yeongju City website and submit application documents in person to the Tourism Promotion Division of Yeongju City Hall or by registered mail by February 21.
Submitted applications will be reviewed based on the appropriateness of the project plan and facility conditions, with final selections made in May. Subsidies will be paid after project completion.
A Yeongju City official stated, "Through this support project, we will do our best to improve tourism facility environments and provide visitors with a more pleasant travel environment and high-quality tourism services."
