Gwangju Dong-gu Deaf Shelter Donates Funds in Celebration of Korean Sign Language Day Gwangju Donggu Deaf Shelter (Branch President Jo Jeomrae) donated 223,690 KRW as a "Love Plus" contribution to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Park Cheolhong, hereafter Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) in celebration of Korean Sign Language Day. Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Park Cheolhong, hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui-Yeolmae) announced on the 5th that Gwangju Dong-gu Shelter for the Deaf (Branch Director Jo Jeomrae) delivered a donation of 223,690 KRW under the campaign 'Adding Love' to commemorate Korean Sign Language Day.


The donation ceremony, held at the Gwangju Dong-gu Shelter for the Deaf, was attended by Park Heungcheol, Secretary General of Gwangju Sarangui-Yeolmae, Jo Jeomrae, Branch Director of Gwangju Dong-gu Shelter for the Deaf, and users of the shelter.


The donation was collected by the users of the Gwangju Dong-gu Shelter for the Deaf, who pooled their contributions to help neighbors in need within the local community.


Jo Jeomrae, Branch Director of Gwangju Dong-gu Shelter for the Deaf, said, "We started this initiative because we wanted to make Korean Sign Language Day more meaningful," and added, "Although it is a small contribution, I hope it will be helpful to those who are struggling."


Park Heungcheol, Secretary General of Gwangju Sarangui-Yeolmae, stated, "The desire to help others is irreplaceable, and I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the warm hearts shown by the users," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure this valuable donation is used where it is needed, such as in welfare blind spots in the local community, in accordance with the donor's wishes."
