Ulsan Office of Education Supports Mental Stability of Local Public Officials... Operates Psychological Counseling Support System

Support Available at Three Locations Including Mothers Hospital
‘Visiting Counseling’ Now Offered for Groups of Three or More Applicants Starting This Year

Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) will continue to operate the ‘Local Government Employee Psychological Counseling (Treatment) Support System’ this year.

This system was introduced in 2023 to promote the psychological stability of general local government employees who face difficulties due to various stress factors such as conflicts among colleagues and handling civil complaints, and to enhance their work adaptability.

Any general local government employee affiliated with the Ulsan Office of Education can use this service.

Those wishing to receive counseling can visit one of the following locations: Cheongsim Psychological Counseling Research Institute in Ok-dong, Nam-gu; My Story in Samsan-dong, Nam-gu; or Mothers Hospital in Dal-dong, Nam-gu, to receive counseling treatment.

Individuals can make a phone reservation directly with the counseling or treatment institution and then visit the institution, and the counseling content is strictly confidential.

Starting this year, if three or more people apply for counseling at Cheongsim Psychological Counseling Research Institute or My Story, ‘visiting counseling’ is available, and if one representative applies, individual counseling will be conducted.

Help is available for a wide range of psychological issues including job stress, conflicts within the organization, interpersonal problems, health issues, and family problems.

The cost of psychological counseling and treatment is paid directly by the Ulsan Office of Education to the counseling institutions, supporting up to 450,000 KRW annually per person for up to five sessions. Extensions for up to three additional sessions are possible if necessary based on counseling and treatment results.

An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, “We plan to continue operating psychological counseling support to resolve the psychological difficulties of public officials and to foster a healthy public service culture,” adding, “We hope many public officials regain psychological stability through counseling.”
