Launch of 'Gana Dessert House' Utilizing Gana Chocolate
Aiming to Become the World's Ultimate Chocolate Dessert Brand
10 Months of Research and Development, Introduction of Bakery Line
Expanding Categories to Foster a Comprehensive Dessert Brand
Lotte Wellfood launched a new brand, 'Gana Dessert House,' on the 5th, utilizing 'Gana Chocolate,' which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. 'Gana Dessert House' encompasses a variety of categories including cakes, bread, and ice cream made with Ghanaian cacao.
The new products of this brand include chocolate cake, hazelnut cake, and chocolate castella. The company underwent about 10 months of research and development to create a chocolate flavor suitable for bakery items. By incorporating 50 years of Gana Chocolate's 'bean-to-bar' know-how (a method of processing cacao beans directly into finished products), they completed a soft and rich filling that melts with chocolate inside the cakes.
The chocolate cake was a dessert menu item operated at the 'Gana Chocolate House' pop-up store in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, in March last year. It is a pound cake filled with soft chocolate filling. The hazelnut cake is a menu item that actively reflects consumer demands. In consumer surveys, 'hazelnut' was selected as the nut people want to enjoy with chocolate, and this flavor is presented together with chocolate. The chocolate castella features the flavor of Ghanaian cacao and the soft texture of an authentic castella recipe.
Gana Dessert House plans to continuously release a variety of chocolate desserts. The company explained that it aims to develop into a comprehensive dessert brand that offers all kinds of chocolate desserts to consumers, including bakery items and ice cream, true to its name.
