A fishing vessel registered in Jeju capsized in waters near Taiwan, but all 10 crew members, including Koreans and foreigners, were rescued.
According to the Jeju Coast Guard and Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters on the 3rd, at around 10:12 PM that day, a report was received that the coastal longline fishing vessel A (48 tons), registered in Seongsan, Jeju, capsized in waters near Taiwan, 833 km south of Seogwipo, Jeju. The vessel had 10 people on board, including 4 Koreans and 6 foreigners.
All of them were rescued by nearby fishing vessels and are reported to be in good health. The accident vessel is currently submerged. The Coast Guard dispatched two 3,000-ton patrol ships and one 1,000-ton patrol ship to the scene to handle the accident.
