According to Gyeonggi Province's 2025 operation plan for Gyeonggi Peace Plaza, the province plans to integrate programs such as cultural and artistic performances, residents' markets, and outdoor movie screenings into the "Reading Gyeonggi Peace Plaza" project, offering plaza programs that provide relaxation and culture in daily life.
Accordingly, from April to June and again from September to October, the "Reading Gyeonggi Peace Plaza" and outdoor library will be opened twice, with programs that residents can experience and enjoy, preparing a large-scale festival program where reading, performances, and healing coexist.
The Gyeonggi Millennium Road Gallery exhibition provides a space where any resident can display their works, and outdoor spaces will feature works by famous artists to offer healing time to visitors of the Northern Government Complex.
In particular, the winter programs, including the skating rink and light sculpture exhibition, will be expanded to provide various photo zones and attractions, strengthening experience-centered content.
The annual programs consist of three main programs: Reading Gyeonggi Peace Plaza (April to October), gallery exhibitions (year-round as needed), and winter programs featuring skating and light sculpture exhibitions (December to January), designed to engage all age groups. The province plans to solicit business operators starting February 3.
Oh Hu-seok, Deputy Governor for Administration of Gyeonggi Province, said, “We have transformed one-time events into year-round events and integrated the Gyeonggi Peace Plaza programs into a unified brand, planning it as a signature project that all residents can participate in and enjoy. With various performances, exhibitions, and experiences prepared, we ask for the residents' great interest and participation.”
Last year, eight programs including cultural and artistic performances, residents' markets, light sculptures, and skating rinks were operated, attracting 67,529 Gyeonggi residents to Gyeonggi Peace Plaza.
