Gwangju Urban Corporation announced on the 3rd that, in line with Safety Inspection Day (held on the 4th of every month), it shared a case study of a major fire that occurred last month in Bundang, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, where all victims were safely rescued without serious injuries, and conducted a fire safety inspection at the "Bitgoeul Customer Center," where over 1,000 people work on site.

During the event, the Bundang fire incident, introduced as an exemplary case of social disaster response, highlighted the importance of maintaining closed fire doors, conducting regular sprinkler inspections, and keeping rooftop doors open. These thorough, routine management and inspections of fire safety facilities were once again recognized as fundamental factors in preventing major disasters when a fire occurs.

During the fire safety inspection at the "Bitgoeul Customer Center," the corporation checked whether an environment enabling a swift response in the event of a fire was well established.

President Kim Seungnam stated, "Major accidents are not disasters that occur without warning. According to the 'Heinrich Law,' there are always dozens of minor accidents and hundreds of signs caused by the same factors before a major incident occurs. As the 4th of every month is designated by the government as Safety Inspection Day, I urge all employees to remember the 'Heinrich Law' and actively work to prevent social disasters for the safety of our citizens."

President Kim also said, "Through the monthly Safety Inspection Day events, we will actively promote a safety culture movement to prevent major disasters."
