Complaint Filed Over Alleged Workplace Harassment Involving the Deceased

The police have launched an investigation into allegations of workplace harassment involving the late MBC weathercaster Oh Yoanna, who passed away last September.

The Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 31st that they have begun a preliminary investigation (internal inquiry) after receiving a complaint through the National Police Agency's online petition system requesting an investigation into the case of caster Oh.


Earlier, a netizen filed a complaint on the 31st of last month through the National Police Agency's online petition system, demanding that the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor investigate the workplace harassment case involving caster Oh.


The complainant alleged that MBC President Ahn Hyung-jun, the head of the relevant department, and fellow weathercasters were involved in charges including evidence tampering, professional negligence resulting in death, and violations of the Stalking Punishment Act.


It is also reported that the complainant has additionally filed charges against MBC for violating the Serious Accidents Punishment Act in relation to the workplace harassment allegations involving caster Oh.
