Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced the results of the '2026~2027 Gyeonggi-do Comprehensive Sports Competition Slogan Contest' on the 3rd.
This contest was organized to wish for the successful hosting of the '2026~2027 Gyeonggi-do Sports Competition' and to enhance the participation and interest of Gyeonggi residents. It was held from December last year to January 3rd.
A total of 1,411 entries were received, and after three rounds of judging, 30 works including the grand prize winners were selected.
The grand prize for the non-disabled category was awarded to "Gyeonggi-do's Vigorous Leap, in Gwangju!", and for the disabled category, "Carrying Dreams to Gwangju! Opening Hearts to Gyeonggi!" was selected. Each winner will receive a 500,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificate as prize money.
The city plans to actively utilize the selected slogans and the competition mascot, including the emblem currently under development, for promotional materials and publicity for the 2026~2027 Gyeonggi-do Comprehensive Sports Competition.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "I thank everyone who showed deep interest and participated in the slogan contest," and added, "We will devote all efforts to successfully hosting the event during the remaining period for the harmony of 14 million Gyeonggi residents and 410,000 Gwangju citizens."
