Through this project, the city plans to swiftly carry out road openings and expansion/paving works in residential areas that local residents can directly feel.

In the Opo and Gyeongan residential areas, the city is promoting △ expansion and paving work on Local Road No. 338 △ construction of entrance and exit ramps between Seongnam and Janghowon △ road opening work between Yeokdong and Yangbeol (Jung-ro 1-14 line). Through this, connectivity with Seongnam and nearby areas will be strengthened, which is expected to have the effect of revitalizing industrial complexes and attracting companies, as well as improving the residential environment by dispersing vehicles in urban areas.

In the Chowol and Gonjiam residential areas, multiple road opening projects are underway, including △ road opening work between Sam-ri and Gungpyeong (Jung-ro 3-14 line and one other) △ expansion and paving work on Local Road No. 101 between Sam-ri and Dowoong △ expansion and paving work on the village access road in Jangsim-ri (Ri-ro 205 line) △ expansion and paving work on the road between Dowoong-ri and Sangnim-ri.

In the Namhansanseong and Toechon residential areas, △ expansion and paving work on the road in front of Toechon Nonghyup (Daero 3-4 line) △ construction of an urban planning road in Geombok-ri (Nambyeoksu) △ expansion and paving of the urban planning road near Bunwon Elementary School are progressing smoothly. With improved access to major tourist sites, an increase in tourist inflow and revitalization of the local commercial district are expected.

In particular, the expansion and paving work on Local Road No. 338 and the construction of entrance and exit ramps between Seongnam and Janghowon are large-scale projects with budgets of 47.8 billion KRW and 33.8 billion KRW respectively, and are underway with a goal of completion in 2026.

The city expects that this road network expansion project will not only expand transportation infrastructure but also bring practical improvements to the traffic environment, such as reducing commuting time and lowering the risk of traffic accidents.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, “We plan to continuously expand the road traffic network to resolve traffic congestion and strengthen connectivity between regions,” adding, “We will rapidly promote various transportation infrastructure projects befitting a self-sufficient economic city with a population of 500,000.”
