Busan Office of Education Announces First 2024 Qualification Exams for Elementary, Middle, and High School Graduates

Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong) will announce the implementation plan for the "2025 1st Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Examination" to be held on April 5th on the Office of Education website at 10 a.m. on the 4th.

Applications will be accepted both on-site and online. Starting this year, to improve convenience for on-site applicants, the number of application centers has been expanded to two locations: the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and the Busan Institute of Educational Research and Information.

The application period is from 9 a.m. on February 17th to 6 p.m. on February 21st. Online applications will close at 6 p.m. on the 20th, one day earlier than the on-site application period, to prevent errors caused by system overload on the last day of registration.

The exam will be held at eight test centers on April 5th. The elementary school equivalency exam center will be set up at Hwashin Middle School, and the middle school equivalency exam center at Mora Middle School. The high school equivalency exam centers will be established at four locations: Busan Gaeseong Middle School (Test Center 1), Namil Middle School (Test Center 2), Centum Middle School (Test Center 3), and Gyeongnam Middle School (Test Center 4). Additionally, test centers will be set up at Busan Prison and Busan Oryun School.

Assignment of test rooms and important information for examinees will be additionally announced on March 21st, and successful candidates will be announced on May 8th at 10 a.m. through the Office of Education website.

Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong stated, "We hope that those who have been unable to complete the regular education curriculum due to unavoidable circumstances such as family situations will be able to use this equivalency exam as an opportunity to advance to higher education and broaden their opportunities for social advancement."
