Daejeon Sees 6.2% Decrease in 119 Calls During Lunar New Year Holiday... Ambulance Dispatches Increase Fire Occurred in a Detached House / Daejeon Fire Department

The number of emergency reports received by the Daejeon 119 General Situation Room during this year's Lunar New Year holiday period showed a slight decrease compared to the same period last year.


According to the Daejeon Fire Department on the 3rd, a total of 3,125 reports were received from January 28 to 30, marking a 6.2% decrease from last year (3,330 cases). There were 51 fire incidents, a 37.8% decrease from last year (82 cases), and 55 rescue dispatches, down 14.1%.


On the other hand, there were 744 ambulance dispatches, a 7.1% increase from last year (695 cases). Other reports, such as hospital and clinic guidance, totaled 2,275, an 8.6% decrease from last year (2,489 cases).


Unlike last year, when there were no casualties from fires, this year saw one death and one injury. Property damage amounted to 10 million won this year, a 96.8% decrease compared to last year (310 million won).


A Daejeon Fire Department official stated, "Although the total number of reports and fire incidents decreased this year, it is regrettable that there were casualties," and added, "We will continue to strengthen safety inspections and preventive activities to respond promptly to various disaster situations in the future."
