Visa, MasterCard, and UPI cards now available instantly at all Hana Bank branches
Sung Young-soo: "No issues issuing cards right before overseas travel"
Hana Financial Group is the first in the industry to offer a service that issues overseas payment cards under the Visa, MasterCard, and UnionPay (UPI) brands at all Hana Bank branches. This service was quickly developed in response to a surge in customers urgently needing cards the day before departure due to issues such as flight tickets and accommodation.
On the 3rd, Hana Card announced that customers can now apply for and receive the 'Hana TravelGO Check Card (Visa)' and 'Hana Travellog Check Card (MasterCard·UPI)' immediately at all Hana Bank branches.
From this day forward, the Travellog Visa brand Hana TravelGO Check Card can be applied for and received instantly at all Hana Bank branches. The MasterCard and UPI brand Hana Travellog Check Cards were launched last year. With the addition of the Visa brand card, Hana Financial Group has become the only financial group to issue all three overseas brand travel cards through all bank branches.
Travellog users can now combine cards that suit their travel destinations and benefits through all Hana Bank branches. For those who mainly travel to the US, Europe, and Japan, a 'MasterCard + Visa' combination is advantageous, while for those traveling primarily to Greater China and Southeast Asia, a 'MasterCard·Visa + UPI' combination is recommended.
Sung Young-soo, CEO of Hana Card, said, "Due to circumstances such as flight and accommodation reservations, there has been an increase in customers requesting Travellog cards just before overseas travel, so we have enabled immediate issuance of the Hana TravelGO Check Card at all Hana Bank branches." He added, "We will continue to enhance customer convenience and accessibility through collaboration within the group."
Travellog is Hana Financial Group's representative overseas travel service. It leads cashless travel through 24/7 mobile currency exchange. By the end of last year, the service surpassed 7 million subscribers. It offers the world's only free exchange for 58 currencies.
Among the top five domestic financial groups (KB, Shinhan, Hana, Woori, NH Nonghyup), Hana Financial Group was the first to launch Travellog cards in partnership with global payment network brands MasterCard, UPI, and Visa. At the end of last year, it also launched the 'KakaoPay Travellog Check Card' in collaboration with KakaoPay.
