Gangseo-gu Provides Up to 12 Million KRW Support per Complex for Apartment Management Costs

Targeting 313 Apartment Complexes
Applications Accepted Until the 19th of Next Month

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) is promoting the ‘Apartment Support Project’ to create a safe residential environment.

The district supports part of the costs for managing apartment complexes to create a pleasant living environment and improve residential welfare. The support areas are divided into two categories: community activation projects and common facility management projects.

The community activation project supports repairs of children’s playgrounds, installation and improvement of facilities for the disabled, installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) due to opening fences or passageways, and more. The common facility management project supports repairs of main roads and security lights, repairs and dredging of outdoor sewers, installation and improvement of energy-saving facilities, among others.

In particular, this year includes support for installing sprinklers and fire detectors, purchasing suffocation fire blankets and fire extinguishers to respond to electric vehicle charging station fires, as well as the installation of ‘emergency passage devices at apartment entrances’ to shorten emergency response times for police and fire services.

The support scale is up to 50% of the total project cost, with a maximum of 12 million KRW per complex. Small-scale apartment complexes with fewer than 150 households can receive up to 60% of the project cost, and the support funds will be disbursed starting from April after review by the Apartment Support Deliberation Committee.

A total of 313 apartment complexes with 30 or more households in the area are eligible, excluding those completed within the last five years. However, the ‘emergency passage device installation at apartment entrances’ category is open to apartment complexes with fewer than 30 households as well. Projects that received support funds last year or construction carried out before the application cannot receive support.

Applications must be submitted by the president of the residents’ representative meeting and the head of the management office jointly by visiting or mailing the required documents, including the support fund application form, to the Housing Division of the district office by the 19th of next month.

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “We are implementing support projects to ensure the safety and pleasant living environment of residents living in aging apartment complexes,” adding, “Especially this year, we are focusing on supporting electric vehicle fire response, so we hope for much interest and participation.”

Meanwhile, last year, the district supported 64 complexes with repairs of children’s playgrounds and outdoor parking lots, as well as sewer dredging.
