Application for New Elementary, Middle, and High School Students' Admission Preparation Funds... 200,000 KRW for Elementary, 300,000 KRW for Middle and High School

March 3-10 for Middle and High Schools,
March 24-28 for Elementary Schools

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 3rd that it will accept applications for entrance preparation funds this month for all first-year new students in public, private, and autonomous schools in Seoul.

The entrance preparation fund is a policy supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education in collaboration with the Seoul city government and 25 autonomous districts to help new students in Seoul schools purchase necessary items for school entrance.

Elementary school students will receive 200,000 KRW per person as mobile points (Zero Pay), and middle and high school students will receive 300,000 KRW per person either for uniform fees or as mobile points (Zero Pay). The mobile points can be used to purchase items needed for school entrance such as clothing (including uniforms), bags, shoes, books and stationery, glasses, and electronic devices.

New middle and high school students in Seoul can apply for this year’s entrance preparation funds on the Office of Education website from the 3rd to the 10th, while elementary school new students can apply on the Zero Pay points website from the 24th to the 28th.

This year, the application and point registration process for elementary school entrance preparation funds, which was previously conducted in two steps, has been simplified into one step to enhance convenience.

Jung Geun-sik, Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "The support for entrance preparation funds strengthens the public nature of education and is part of Seoul Education’s efforts to realize universal educational welfare," adding, "We will continue to support reducing parents’ educational expenses and ensuring that all students receive quality education without discrimination."
