A Total of 220 Units Receive Subsidies, a 1.5-Fold Increase from Last Year... 600,000 KRW per Unit
Eligibility Criteria for Multi-Child Families Relaxed This Year, Subsidies Also Provided for LPG Boiler Installation in Areas Without City Gas Supply
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is providing subsidies for eco-friendly home boilers to energy-vulnerable groups.
From April 3, 2020, throughout Seoul, eco-friendly boilers must be installed according to the Air Quality Management Zone Act. If installing an eco-friendly boiler is not possible, a type 2 boiler with somewhat lower energy-saving effects may be installed.
Eco-friendly boilers emit only one-eighth the amount of nitrogen oxides compared to regular boilers, helping reduce fine dust, and have 12% higher thermal efficiency, resulting in significant energy savings.
This year, the district plans to support subsidies for 220 units, 1.5 times more than last year, with applicants eligible to receive 600,000 KRW per unit.
The support targets those installing (replacing) eco-friendly boilers certified with the environmental label this year, including ▲basic livelihood security recipients ▲near-poverty class ▲multi-child families ▲disability pension recipients ▲and social welfare facilities.
In particular, from this year, the district has relaxed eligibility criteria for multi-child families (two or more children), including those with up to 100% of the median income as eligible for eco-friendly boiler installation subsidies.
Residents wishing to apply should visit the district office with documents such as ▲eco-friendly boiler installation confirmation ▲contract fulfillment proof ▲subsidy payment request form, and submit their application.
Applications can also be submitted by mail or online.

District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “Replacing old boilers with eco-friendly boilers saves city gas costs and contributes to reducing fine dust and greenhouse gases,” adding, “With the relaxed eligibility criteria, we hope many residents apply for and benefit from the eco-friendly boiler subsidies.”
Gwanak-gu Calls for Organizations to Participate in the 2025 Gender Equality Fund Public Project
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is conducting the ‘2025 Gender Equality Fund Public Project’ to promote women’s rights and spread a culture of gender equality, and is recruiting participating organizations.
Since establishing the Gender Equality Fund in 2004, the district has developed various projects and worked toward realizing gender equality. This year’s support budget totals 30 million KRW, with up to 5 million KRW per project.
The district is recruiting organizations to participate in five areas: ▲Gender-equal city created together ▲Safe city foundation enjoyed together ▲Economic vitality city working together ▲Women’s participation city growing together ▲Family-friendly city caring together.
In particular, due to the increasing incidence and damage of digital sex crimes, the district plans to focus support on digital sex crime-related projects under the ‘Safe city foundation enjoyed together’ area this year.
Applicants must be nonprofit corporations or nonprofit private organizations located in Gwanak-gu that work to spread and promote gender equality culture and protect women’s human rights.
The application period is from January 31 to February 13. Interested corporations or organizations should complete the application form and submit it via email or visit the Gwanak-gu Office Women and Family Division to apply in person.
The district will select participating organizations after review by the Gender Equality Committee, considering factors such as ▲contribution to women’s rights protection and welfare promotion ▲feasibility and effectiveness of the project ▲budget validity ▲recent activity records of the organization.
Results will be individually notified on March 5 and can also be checked on the Gwanak-gu Office website.
For detailed information about the Gender Equality Fund public project, visit the Gwanak-gu Office website (News → Notices).
Last year, the district supported seven organizations’ projects to promote gender equality culture, including ▲a knitting program ‘Haengttam Haengttam’ for career-interrupted vulnerable women ▲‘Napul Napul Hanji Craft’ for mothers with disabled children ▲gender sensitivity education for children and youth victims of domestic violence.
District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “Facing various challenges such as the low birthrate crisis and the surge in digital sex crimes, the need to spread a culture of gender equality through cooperation with specialized and capable private organizations has grown,” adding, “We hope for active interest and participation from related organizations operating in Gwanak-gu.”
