The medical drama "Severe Trauma Center," starring actor Ju Ji-hoon, has succeeded in the global market.


According to FlixPatrol, a global online video streaming service (OTT) ranking site, the Netflix series "Severe Trauma Center" ranked 2nd in the global TV show category, which compares the performance of Netflix titles worldwide. "Squid Game Season 2" dropped from 2nd to 3rd place.


"Severe Trauma Center" ranked 1st in 19 countries including South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela, El Salvador, and Ecuador. It ranked 5th in Japan and 9th in the United States. Its popularity is spreading from Northeast and Southeast Asia to the Middle East and South America. In the weekly Netflix rankings from the 20th to the 26th, it achieved 3rd place in the global TV show (non-English) category just three days after its release.


"Severe Trauma Center" is a drama adaptation of the popular web novel and webtoon "Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour." The story follows Baek Kang-hyuk (Ju Ji-hoon), a genius surgeon who used to work on the battlefield, as he is assigned to revive the severe trauma team. The series was released on the 24th.


The original author, otolaryngologist Lee Nak-jun, said in a YouTube video on "Doctor Friends" on the 23rd regarding Netflix's "Severe Trauma Center," "The story is not fully concluded in Season 1. The drama was made with Seasons 2 and 3 in mind," hinting at the possibility of sequels.
