At Temporary General Meeting, Choi Yoon-beom, Chairman of Korea Zinc, Gains Momentum; Visits Onsan Smelter to Thank Ulsan Citizens for Their Support

Choi Yoon-beom, Chairman of Korea Zinc, visited the Ulsan Onsan Smelter site as his first official schedule after the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to express his gratitude to employees and the citizens of Ulsan.

On the 31st, Korea Zinc announced that Chairman Choi visited the Ulsan Onsan Smelter site to encourage employees and review various factory issues that had not been addressed so far. Chairman Choi said, "Given the challenging domestic and international economic environment, everyone should return to the basics and focus on their core duties," adding, "When all employees produce products in the safest and most eco-friendly way and make every effort to maintain quality, Korea Zinc's identity will shine."


Chairman Choi visited the All-in-One Nickel Smelter construction site, a key facility for Korea Zinc's secondary battery core materials business, as well as Korea Precursor Company (KPC) and KZAM, consecutively to encourage employees and check on business status. At the All-in-One Nickel Smelter construction site, he emphasized, "Even amid an uncertain market environment caused by the electric vehicle chasm, if we prepare steadily according to our plan, we will be able to produce secondary battery materials through the world's most competitive nickel smelter."


Furthermore, Chairman Choi said, "As the saying goes, 'A friend in need is a friend indeed,' the support and encouragement from Ulsan during the hostile M&A phase have been a great strength," and expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who took the lead in protecting the hometown company. He added, "With the support of Ulsan citizens as nourishment, the management, employees, and labor union will unite to quickly normalize the company and help it take a step forward as a proud hometown company of Ulsan."


Chairman Choi will visit Ulsan for two days on the 31st and 1st, immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday.
