Ulju-gun Expands Support for Dementia Treatment Management Fees and Care Supplies

First in Ulsan: Now Covering Those Below 140% of Median Income

Ulsan Ulju-gun announced on the 31st that it will expand support for home care supplies for dementia patients to those with an income below 140% of the median income, marking the first such initiative in Ulsan to alleviate the economic burden on dementia patients and their families.

Dementia treatment management expenses, which cover medication and medical fees for dementia treatment, will have their eligibility criteria expanded from those below 120% of the median income to those below 140% starting this year.

Accordingly, Ulju-gun residents who meet the income criteria can continuously receive necessary care supplies such as diapers and wet wipes for dementia patient care.

Those wishing to apply for support should submit related documents, including △ a diagnosis or prescription containing the dementia disease classification code and dementia medication name △ identification card △ bankbook copy, to the Dementia Safety Center.

A representative from the Ulju-gun Dementia Safety Center stated, “As the number of dementia patients increases annually, the caregiving burden on families is also continuously rising. We expect that this expansion of support will allow more dementia patients to benefit.”

The Ulju-gun Dementia Safety Center is leading efforts in dementia prevention and treatment support by expanding support for home care supplies following the expansion of dementia treatment management expenses support, the first in Ulsan.

The center offers various integrated dementia management services, including early dementia screening, dementia prevention programs, short-term respite care for dementia patients, support for care supplies, and dementia treatment management expenses.
