Strengthening Linked Care Capabilities for High-Risk Mothers and Newborns in Northern Gyeonggi Expected
Former President of the Korean Society of Neonatology, Leading the Establishment of a Neonatal Intensive Care Delivery System
Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital (Hospital Director Song Hyun) is taking a step closer to providing newborn safety-centered medical services.
On the 31st, Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital announced that it has recruited Professor Kim Chang-ryeol, a leading expert in neonatal emergency diseases and critical care.
Professor Kim is scheduled to begin his practice on the 1st of next month. He graduated from Hanyang University College of Medicine and earned his master's and doctoral degrees from the same graduate school.
He also trained in neonatology and perinatology at Seoul National University Children's Hospital and the Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island at Brown University in the United States.
Since then, he has served as the president of the Korean Society of Neonatology and as the director of a regional neonatal intensive care center, contributing to the development of neonatal medical policies and the establishment of treatment delivery systems.
In particular, in 2020, he was awarded the Presidential Citation for his contributions to the advancement of statistical analysis of infant diseases and causes of death.
Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital continues to improve the clinical environment of its neonatal intensive care unit and strives to provide high-quality medical services.
Through the recruitment of Professor Kim, Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital plans to strengthen the linked care capabilities for high-risk mothers and newborns in the northern Gyeonggi region, as well as the treatment environment for severe and emergency pediatric diseases.
Hospital Director Song Hyun stated, “We will continue to make efforts to improve the quality of medical care for high-risk mothers and newborns,” adding, “We will do our best to provide the best medical care by strengthening regional medical services and recruiting excellent medical staff.”
