Provision of Customized Education, Mentoring, and Consulting
The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Jeonnam Provincial University has been selected for Jeonnam Province's 2025 Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation City and County Support Project.
This project aims to foster a local startup ecosystem and create jobs with a total support budget of 150 million KRW. The core goal is to create jobs tailored to the region's industrial structure and workforce demand.
Through the Damyang Chaeum Startup Support Project in 2023, the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Jeonnam Provincial University discovered 18 new entrepreneurs. Among them, 10 relocated their residences to Damyang, achieving notable results. Additionally, three newly established companies donated development funds to the university, positively impacting the local economy.
Last year, the Damyang Creator Support Project identified eight new entrepreneurs and achieved continuous growth, including hiring new local employees within three months of startup.
Through this project, the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Jeonnam Provincial University plans to support successful startups by providing customized education throughout the startup lifecycle, operating a residential startup academy, and offering one-on-one mentoring and consulting.
The project will run from March to December, aiming to attract new entrepreneurs through various programs such as discovering prospective founders and operating startup camps. Through these efforts, the university expects to increase the residential and living population, reduce vacancy rates by utilizing empty stores, boost startup company sales, and raise regional income.
Jang Heonbeom, Acting President of Jeonnam Provincial University, stated, "Being selected for this project is the result of the university's efforts to support startups," and added, "We will do our best to contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
